FEST Feature Friday: Protagonist

Punk rock five piece, Protagonist, will be performing at FEST this coming November. FEST, a three day music festival taking place in Gainesville, FL, has been happening annually since 2001, making this the 18th year of what can be best described as a punk rock family reunion. With the recent addition of both stand up comedy and wresting, this is a weekend for the books.

The band has released two new singles over the last few months, with the most recent, “Generation Lost,” having come out last Friday. The former, “The Killing Fields,” kicked off a series of re-worked tracks that the band had been holding onto for more than a decade! We had a chance to chat with vocalist Peter Marullo about revisiting unreleased material, his favorite FEST memories, and more! For this week’s FEST Feature Friday, we’re happy to introduce you to Timeshares! This self-described post college rock band are from New York, and this November will mark one full decade of performing at FEST in Gainesville, FL. This three day music festival hosts bands and attendees from all around the world, starting in the afternoon and continuing into the early morning hours from Friday - Sunday, November 1st - 3rd.

Alex Sepassi and Justin Alvis combine forces to form Silver Relics and to create an infectious brand of indie rock. With heavy influences spanning from the ‘60’s, ‘70’s, and ‘80’s, the pair recently released their debut album, generic., followed by a run of shows in the UK and Ireland.

Feature Friday: As It Is

UK pop/punk group As It Is recently put out their third album, The Great Depression, and are currently on a tour supporting the album. The Great Depression follows three main characters through their journey with mental illness. While other bands have written a song or two about the topic, As It Is delves into each tiny crevice of mental illness and talks about it in a way that does not romanticize it, but rather brings light to a difficult subject.

Skyward Story // Feature Friday
