Date: July 17, 2019

I trudged through the pouring rain and flashes of lightning on July 17th to catch oldsoul, The Obsessives, Retirement Party, and Prince Daddy & The Hyena kick off the Cosmic Thrill Seeking Forever Tour at The Sinclair in Cambridge, MA.

oldsoul from Lowell, MA started off the almost sold-out show with a bang! I love the fact that the tour package was having local bands open each date of the tour, it makes every night a little different and helps get more folks to come out. Their dreamy rock sound swayed the crowd and got everyone riled up for the rest of the bands.

Up next were The Obsessives. I was so happy to see them again— they were on The Wonder Years tour I was lucky enough to go on, and they always put on a stellar show. A tiny Luigi sat on the piano as they played songs from their latest self titled release.

Retirement Party kept things grooving, while a circle pit opening up much to the band's surprise. The crowd was going crazy as they blasted through their set, and even playing a new song.

Last, but certainly not least, was Prince Daddy & The Hyena. I've only seen them play at FEST, so I knew the level of intensity the crowd was going to be. Not even 30 seconds in to the first song, folks were flying off the stage left and right. This was the first show they had played since their newest album, Cosmic Thrill Seekers, was released, and they were ecstatic to see everyone singing the words.
