Saves the Day and Joyce Manor recently came to The Stone Pony in Asbury Park with support from awakebutstillinbed for the second to last date of their Summer Tour on August 17th. The venue filed in patron after patron for this sold-out show, slowly but surely filling the room & patio with excited fans.
awakebutstillinbed opened the show and definitely brought a lot of energy to the crowd, playing upbeat pop-punk riffs & overall a solid, strong set.
Following them was co-headliner Joyce Manor, a fun punk band from California. This four piece kicked off their set with crowd favorites including “Beach Community” and “Heart Tattoo.”
They brought a new level of excitement and nostalgia to the sold out crowd by starting out with such popular tracks from their discography. Of course, their set list also included “Constant Headache” from their 2011 self titled release. Packing a punch with a 19 song set list, they wrapped up their set with “5 Year Plan” and “Catalina Fight Song.”
Finishing off the night, hometown heroes Saves the Day took the stage & awakened a second wind in the crowd. Their set went on for two hours, with a set list clocking in at 23 tracks.
At one point, the band called a very lucky fan on stage, thanks to the sign that he was holding in the crowd! Overall, this show was truly an amazing, unmissable experience due to the energy from a sold out crowd along with the passion each band brought to the stage - I recommend checking them out the next time they stop in your city!
