Emo Nite Brings The Party To Orlando

Emo Nite LA: if you know, you know. If you have no idea what those words mean, allow me to explain. Three friends in Los Angeles created an iconic event in a small dive bar that has become a full-blown phenomenon among those in the alternative scene. Emo Nite is, at its core, a DJ event where pop punk / emo music is blasted through the speakers while fans dance on the floor and even the stage itself. Emo Nite has become an all-inclusive night where fans of Fall Out Boy, Panic! at the Disco, My Chemical Romance, and more, can gather and share their love for the music they grew up listening to. You might even hear that song that changed your life. You know — we all have that one song.

La Dispute takes on the Royale

La Dispute rolled into Boston, MA with Gouge Away and Slow Mass on a cool Friday evening. Playing at the Royale, a pretty swanky venue, it was nice to see this place again. I've been there once before when I was on tour with The Wonder Years and Jetty Bones last year.

Knocked Loose Bring Their Headlining Tour To The Starland Ballroom

I had the opportunity to catch Knocked Loose on their headlining spring tour at the Starland Ballroom in New Jersey on April 13th. With a stacked line-up featuring The Acacia Strain, Harm’s Way, special guests Incendiary and more, you really can’t go wrong. If you’re unfamiliar with Starland Ballroom, it’s a small but spacious venue, with capacity at 2,000 people and the ability (and of course, reputation) to pack almost every show I’ve attended wall to wall.

Mat Kerekes brought his headlining tour through San Francisco at Bottom of the Hill on March 22nd with Jacob Sigman and Jetty Bones. We were lucky to be in town to check it out. Makeout | The Abbey | Orlando, FL

Makeout, formerly known as Trophy Wives, are making a name for themselves while also bringing old and new fans with them. Opening last night for Icon For Hire, the band proved they could put on just as big of a show as a headlining act. Although most in the crowd were there to see the main act, Makeout definitely owned the stage. Pairing their never ending energy and unapologetically real lyrics, the band truly gave the show their all.
